Thinking Time
Reflective Supervision
“Good supervisors can take you to incredible heights. They help you learn to fly, providing the wind beneath you and providing a net for when you fall.”
– Nancy L. White-Gibson

Support from an experienced Education Professional
I am a qualified and experienced Supervisor who has worked in education for 30 years as a teacher, DSL and Headteacher.
I understand the unique demands, complexities and system pressures of working in schools.

Promote staff
well-being
With a skilled supervisior to facilitate each session, supervisees are supported to reflect on their caseload, their actions and their feelings – helping them to regulate and manage the emotional demands of their work.
Show your team that you care about their mental health and understand the importance of providing time for professional reflection.

Build resilience – Improve capacity
Regular supervision enables staff to manage and process the increasingly complex challenges of their work leading to greater resilience, increased capacity and improved staff performance which impacts positively on outcomes for pupils.

Comply with DFE requirements
The DFE expect all state funded schools to protect, promote and enhance the well-being of their staff and channel support to individuals whose role is known to have a significant emotional component.

Safeguarding
Supervision will focus on the child, their safety and welfare. Monitor setting decision-making and promote the welfare of children and young people.
Supervisors will have a professional curiosity and ask probing questions, to challenge practitioners’ values and assumptions.
.

Comply with Ofsted expectations
Inspectors will be looking at whether staff who work directly and regularly with children and learners, whose safety and welfare are at risk, receive regular supervision and support.
