ABOUT ME

Jo Di-Pede

BA (Hons), PGCE, NPQH, Advanced Diploma in Supervision

Where it all started

Born in Leicester, I grew up in Bedford before moving to Dorset in 1987. I was fortunate to attend incredible schools and have dedicated and inspiring teachers.

This great start to my own education was the springboard to my own teaching and school leadership career.

Supervision

In 2019, I completed a Post Qualifying Advanced Diploma in Supervision, to develop my understanding of how relational supervision can provide the safe space colleagues need to acknowledge, accept and address their feelings about the work they do. I now offer individual and group supervision in schools across the South Coast.

Professional experience

After graduating with a BA (Joint Hons) in Music & Education, I completed a PGCE at Exeter University. I became a class teacher, Year Leader, Phase Leader, SENCo, Inclusion Leader and Deputy Headteacher in first, junior and primary schools before being appointed Headteacher in 2007. I retired from Headship in December 2022.

Other interests

I love music in all its forms and can often be found enjoying a live performance. In addition to my role as a Supervisor, I work, part time, as a registrar of births, deaths and marriages for a local council. I have the freedom and flexibility to spend precious time with my family and travel extensively with my husband, often to the coast and the stunning fjords, lakes and mountains of Europe, where it’s hard not to pause and reflect, amid such stunning backdrops. I love it there.
